A salt/saline solution is a common, effective approach to lightening tattoos. Although it is a slower process than other treatments, this method is popular because it is safer than other tattoo removal procedures. In addition, a saline solution treatment is ideal for those with darker skin tones, those with sensitive skin, and those who have had an allergic reaction to tattoo pigment. This method can lighten tattoos on any area, including around the eyes.
The first step of the salt/saline treatment is similar to the process of traditional tattooing: a Permanent Cosmetic technician will use a device similar to an ink-gun to tattoo the salt/saline solution into the treatment area. This punctures the top layer of skin, opening the area. Then, a salt paste is applied to the skin, which draws the tattoo pigment to the skin’s surface and gently exfoliates it away. Our technician can treat up to a 4-by-4-inch area in one sitting.
Clients should expect three to five procedures before they see desired results. With this method of tattoo removal, clients can expect the tattoo to become lighter and the skin can be re-tattooed after the treatment area heals.

FAQS Tattoo Removal
What can the client expect during and after treatments?
During treatment, the client should expect some minor bleeding. The area being treated is numbed first with topical anesthetic numbing cream for 20 minutes and the procedure itself takes 30 minutes. The treated area will also be tender for a few days while the skin begins to develop a scab. Fading will happen gradually over several months and treatments. It is important to know that you removal will not be done in 1 session, typically 4-5 sessions are common for removal.
A scab on the treated area will form. During the scabbing process, the ink is pulled to the surface by the scab. After the scab has fallen off, the skin beneath will appear pink for up to six months or longer. This varies according to each individual's lymphatic system. You will notice continued lightening for several months following the removal.
For your comfort, a topical anesthetic (lidocaine) is applied to the area to be treated before and during the tattoo removal process. Afterwards, the area is thoroughly cleansed and bandaged (for body art, bandage can be kept on for a couple hours; for cosmetic tattoo removal, I will send you home with gauze for you to blot the treated area of lymph fluids).
KEEP AS DRY AS POSSIBLE
Following the removal, you will be given aftercare instructions, that you will also find below, these must be strictly followed.
